Watch someone pull a car with this super durable charging cord
Nothing screams first-world problems like a broken charging cord. Way too often our modern-day lifelines wind up disintegrating to the point where one good yank from behind the bed will snap it in two, sending you off to buy yet another replacement cord.
That may not be the case forever though, since there’s a super durable charging cord on Kickstarter that’s supposedly indestructible. In the campaign video, a man is seen pulling a car with this thing.
Exhibit A:
The Zendure SuperCord comes from the makers of the , another Zendure product that was successfully funded on Kickstarter.
Once you’ve got a tough-as-nails battery pack, why not make an indestructible USB cord to match? It just makes sense.
After a year of testing dozens of materials and braid designs, the peeps over at Zendure came up with the current configuration. The secret weapon? Kevlar.
Kevlar is a super resilient fiber used in things like bullet resistant vests, helmets, sports gear, and more. So yes, it is quite literally bullet-proof material.
The SuperCord’s inner wires are protected by a nylon/Kevlar combo braided jacket with an attachable leather strap that’ll help you manage the cable (AKA keep it all in one place and avoid getting tangled), and is equipped with stainless steel connectors that resist rust.
Apart from charging, the SuperCord will also allow you to Sync and transfer data or files from one device to another. (Great news for those who do a lot of data transferring on the go — y’all know how annoying it is to deal with a broken USB cord.) It’ll come in two different sizes: three feet or six feet.
Not surprisingly, people are excited about this prototype, considering at the time of writing, they are less than $2K away from their $30,000 funding goal on Kickstarter.
If you want to get in on the action, you can still assist in helping them reach their goal. Fifteen bucks or more will guarantee you your very own SuperCord should they reach their goal and go into production, and there are a bunch of other sweet package deals for those who are willing to spend a little more. The best part? If all goes to plan, the SuperCords are expected to ship as early as November 2018.
