Train to be a cloud architect for less than $10
Contrary to popular belief, and despite the near-ubiquity of its Amazon Prime subscription service among modern consumers, Amazon’s ecommerce site is hardly its cash cow.
Nope — that title belongs to Amazon Web Services, or AWS, its subsidiary providing on-demand cloud computing services.
But what AWS lacks in mainstream name recognition, it makes up for with stellar growth and profits: According to Amazon’s most recent financial statement, AWS grew 47 percent in the 2018 fiscal year, and raked in an operating income of $7.3 billion to cement its status as the tech company’s most profitable arm. (Prime who?)
The ongoing success of AWS has predictably made “AWS cloud guru” a piping-hot career path, resulting in high demand for trained cloud professionals and — logically speaking — making now the ideal time to learn how to use it.
Not sure where to begin? Udemy’s AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate 2019 class is an affordable, novice-friendly online course on AWS requiring zero programming knowledge or experience. It’s specifically designed to get you up to speed with AWS in preparation for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect (CSA) – Associate Exam, the Amazon certification that makes one an official AWS professional. Best yet, it’s currently on sale in the PCMag Shop for less than $10. (A typical sale on Udemy’s site will be anywhere from $11 to $13, so this is a great deal.)
Updated just last month with an extra 10 hours of content, this course includes more than 32 hours of on-demand video, accessible on both mobile and TV, that walk you through the process of building highly resilient and scaleable websites on AWS. This learning is accompanied by 23 downloadable AWS resources, which can be revisited any time you need a refresher.
Upon completion of the class, you’ll be set to take the CSA – Associate Exam and, eventually, with some luck, leverage it for a stellar job in the fast-paced IT world.
The AWS CSA – Associate 2019 course typically retails for $179.99, but you can enroll for a mere $9.99. (You’ll get access via email within two hours.) Note: If you do not receive your course within that time frame, it may be in either your Spam or Trash folders, so check there before freaking out.
