This rugged HD camera takes GoPro quality photos and video — and it’s only $40
It’s never been more affordable to snap quality action photos, an endeavor once relegated to *serious* photographers with pricey equipment. GoPro, of course, changed all that when it charged upon the scene a few years ago. It famously originated during founder Nick Woodman’s surfing trip to Australia in 2002, when he sought to capture his exploits on film and realized there wasn’t an easy way to pull it off.
Just like that, GoPro was born, breaking open a whole new market. But GoPro’s offerings currently start at $200 and scale up to $400 for their Hero 6 and Hero 7 models. Are there any more affordable options for the budget-minded action photographer?
We’re so glad you asked.
Enter the All Pro HD Waterproof Action Camera. This rugged camera is designed for outdoor adventuring, and it’ll survive a trip mounted on your dirt bike or skydiving helmet. It boasts an IPX68 waterproof rating, meaning you can snap pictures or record video in up to 30 feet of water. Like the GoPro Hero, the All Pro features an impressive 12 MP HD wide-angle lens — but with a superior three-hour battery life (in comparison, the Hero clocks in at two hours per charge).
Again, the All Pro’s specs are comparable to those of the entry-level Hero’s. For instance, the higher priced Hero 6 or Hero 7 models feature 4K resolutions versus the All Pro’s 1080p. But pound for pound, the All Pro still weighs in strong as a cost-friendly action cam that won’t leave your wallet hurting.
The All Pro HD camera and accessories normally retail for $149.95, but you can get them for just $39.99 in the Mashable Shop during this sale. That’s compared to the normal $199.99 you’d pay for a GoPro Hero. Choose from one of four colors: silver, pink, blue, and black.
