The Roomba i7+ with automatic dirt disposal is on sale for under $950

Robot vacuums really spoil you. Once you get used to not having to clean for yourself, even emptying the bin is too hard. How dare it make you get off the couch, am I right?

iRobot is clearly totally over that, because the company’s next undertaking is creating vacuums with, wait for it, self-emptying dust bins. Retailing at $1,099, the Roomba i7+ is actually the cheapest in the line — but you can save $150 and get it for $949 at Amazon. The i7 was just released in fall 2018, so it’s not a surprise that $949 is its lowest price yet on Amazon.

On the outside, the i7+ doesn’t look much different than the $300 Roomba models. But on the inside, man, that’s a different story. iRobot claims that the i7+ has 10 times the air power of its 600-level siblings, using a three-stage cleaning system to lift dirt and hair matted into carpets. The built-in high-efficiency filter apparently traps 99% of allergens, too.

With its new line, iRobot also took on improving its room-scanning and mapping technology. While most robot vacuums can’t map past virtual barriers or built-in lasers, the i7+ can remember your home’s layout in up to 10 floor plans. The iAdapt technology remembers where it already cleaned and focuses on the spots that get extra filthy, but you can also use the iRobot app to choose specific rooms and schedule cleanings.

But these features pale in comparison to the fact that the Roomba i7+ actually empties its own dustbin. It can actually self-empty 30 bins of dust before you need to do anything. The actual i7+ vacuum can technically be purchased by itself, but the automatic dirt disposal is definitely worth it.
