TL;DR: The DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Fly More Combo drones are up to $450 off at Best Buy as of May 5.

By now, we’re all familiar with the TikTok love story about the quarantine cutie and her drone. (Like the “Princess and the Frog,” but the glitch-in-the-simulation version.)

Social distancing dating isn’t the only way that people are using drones to cure boredom. This guy had his drone walk his dog and this photographer used a drone to take adorable photos of families chilling on their balconies during isolation. The most 2020 example is a series of drone videos capturing empty cities across the globe while its citizens stay indoors.

Drones are such a hot commodity right now that multiple high-end models on DJI’s site are completely sold out. Best Buy is coming in clutch with these models not only in stock, but on sale: You can save $300 on the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Fly More Combo and $450 on the DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo.

Trying to capture 4K video footage like the drones capturing the (lack of) city life? The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum features a 4K camera (at 30fps with Adobe DNG RAW support) for crystal in-flight recording plus 60 percent noise reduction. Use the included controller to fly it or download the app for smartphone control. The Fly More Combo adds extra batteries, one extra platinum tip propeller, plus extra goodies like a car charger, power adapter, and a shoulder bag.

Note: The Mavic Pro Platinum ($1,149) is sold out at DJI’s site, while the Fly More Combo is in stock but going for $1,499. Best Buy is offering the Fly More Combo for *less*  than the drone by itself on DJI’s site.

One of DJI’s more portable drones, the Mavic Air has simple controls and is a great place for novices to start. It’s far from basic, though: Capture horizontal, vertical, or 180-degree panoramic aerial footage all in UHD, and stay in the air for 21 minutes on a single charge. The original Mavic AIr can’t shoot an 8K hyperlapse like the Mavic Air 2, but 4K is supported. Like the Mavic Pro Platinum, the Mavic Air Fly More Combo includes accessories like extra batteries, extra propellers, and a travel bag to up the professionalism.
