The Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + cellular) is $100 off at Walmart
TL;DR: The trailblazing Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + cellular, 44mm) is on sale for $429 at Walmart, a huge $100 discount that we haven’t seen before.
The Apple Watch Series 5 may officially be the newest, most souped-up Apple Watch out right now, but its future was shaped by a legend: The Series 4.
In September 2018, the Series 4 took the Apple Watch from merely a cool watch to a piece of wearable tech that’s just as dependable as a phone. At the risk of sounding too much like a dramatic documentary that plays by a museum exhibit, it was groundbreaking.
But now that the Series 5 is out, retailers are slashing prices on the Series 4 — something smart Apple fans have been waiting for. You can save a whopping $100 on 44mm GPS + Cellular Series 4 model at Walmart, plus get free next-day delivery. (You can also buy it for the same price on Amazon, but it’s not in stock there until Oct. 19.)
What does the Series 5 have that the Series 4 doesn’t?
An always-on Retina display, the ability to call 911 from anywhere in the world (for the cellular models, that is), and some new color options.
Really, that’s it — the most substantial changes came with the release of the Series 4. It saw a total redesign on the exterior by maxing out the edge-to-edge display by 30%, better battery life, a processor double the speed of the Series 3, and improved health and fitness tracking (including the ability to take an ECG). WatchOS 6, which features a ton of new stuff like its own App Store and new health tracking, will be available for update on the Series 4.
The Series 5 has all of this plus the new stuff, of course — but if you don’t mind skipping out on those upgrades to save some money, you can be rocking a still-great piece of arm candy for way less. Or snag one of these as an early holiday gift and become someone’s new favorite person.
Regularly $529, you can save $100 and get the black or silver model for $429 with free two-day delivery. (The deal is so sweet that rose gold is already sold out.)
