The 2019 MacBook Air is $200 off — its lowest price ever at Amazon
TL;DR: The newest MacBook Air (256 GB model) is on sale for $1,099.99 at Amazon, a savings of 15%.
There’s no rest for the wicked, but also no rest for Apple news.
If a new model of something isn’t being released (hello, new MacBook Pro), there’s a rumor about something being released (hello, even newer MacBook Pro). It’s fun, but overwhelming for people simply trying to upgrade their device while staying frugal.
Make it easy on yourself: The newest MacBook Air also happen to be the cheapest, and you can save $199.01 on the 256 GB model at Amazon. That’s only $150 more than the sale price of the 128 GB model from 2018. (Y’all better hurry — the gold model sold out at the time of this writing.)
To keep it real with you, the 2019 MacBook Air model doesn’t really see any groundbreaking upgrades. Though the exterior is totally the same as the previous model, the newer model’s 2560 x 1600 Retina display is much more comparable to that of a MacBook Pro. Apple’s butterfly keyboard has been a point of controversy for years and, yup, it’s still here. Not many people like the debris-prone setup, but at least Apple has improved the replacement system.
Both the 2018 and 2019 have the touch ID system, quick dual-core 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processors with Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz as well as Intel UHD Graphics 617. Somehow, Mashable’s Ray Wong found that the 2019 model worked up to 15% faster than the older one, but has slower SSD than the previous model to cut costs.
It all just depends on whether you’d notice a brighter screen and faster performance vs. SSD — but the 2019 model also comes with more bragging rights.
Regularly $1,299.99, you can save $199.01 and get the 256 GB model for $1,099.99.
