Save up to 50% at Best Buy and Amazon
ICYMI, food establishments across the country have shut down their dine-in operations for the forseeable future as states order closures due to the novel coronavirus and COVID-19. (That’s the respiratory disease caused by the virus, which is now considered a global pandemic.) These restrictions are poised to have a huge impact on the restaurant industry — and while major chains will likely come out of this relatively unscathed, the same can’t be said for the 10-seat coffee shop down the street from your apartment.
One of the best ways to support small, local establishments like that during these trying times is to grab a gift card you can redeem at a later date — that way, they get some immediate income to stay afloat, and you can enjoy your go-to soy milk caramel macchiato again once they re-open their doors.

In the meantime, you can get a similar caffeine fix at home with a Nespresso machine, a countertop appliance that’s capable of brewing both coffee and espresso. (Plus, teaching yourself how to make fancy coffee drinks is a great way to pass the time while you’re social distancing.) Here are a couple of models we found on sale across Amazon and Best Buy as of March 19:

Capable of heating up in just 25 seconds, this single-serve machine boasts a built-in milk frother and a high-pressure pump with a whopping 19 bars of power. It’s usually listed at $379.99, but both Amazon and Best Buy have it on sale in “warm slate” for only $189.99 — a $190 savings. (Fun fact: That’s the highest discount it’s ever gotten.)

The popular Vertuo model features an extra-large, 54-ounce water tank and uses an intelligent extraction system to automatically adjust its brewing parameters for different coffee blends. Amazon has it on sale in “graphite metal” for just $139.99, which is nearly $60 off its suggested retail price of $199 — get it here.

Sporting an auto-clean function and a fully automatic steam wand that’s capable of creating gorgeous latte art, the Nespresso Creatista Uno is hands-down the fanciest machine on this list. It typically retails for $399, but you can score its “black sesame” variant on sale on Amazon for just $299.99 — a $99 savings. Get it here.

The compact (yet surprisingly powerful) Essenza Mini features one-touch controls and an extraction system that can deliver 19 bars of pressure. Amazon customers rate it highly for its ease of use, and you can get it here in black for just $108.98 — that’s $40 off its suggested retail price of $149.
