Save on 21.5- and 27-inch models
While tech is getting more affordable and accessible, some things are still just plain expensive. A MacBook will set you back at least $1,000, which is a nice chunk of change. Plus, if you want to turn it into a work station, you have to get a monitor and those can cost a couple hundred bucks if you want good size and quality.
One solution to condense your costs is to get an iMac. You can buy one of these all-in-one desktops for about the same price as a MacBook alone, and then you don’t need to spend extra cash on a monitor.
We found a few iMacs on sale for as low as $999 as of Feb. 25. P.S. If you still want the portability of a laptop, we suggest getting an iPad as a supplemental device.
This is not the latest and greatest from Apple, but it is still pretty damn good and it’s more affordable than the newer model. It has a thin 5 millimeter design and a dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor. It features two USB-C ports and comes with Apple’s Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard. With a list price of $1,099, this iMac model is currently on sale for $999.99.
If newness is important to you, you can get those same specs in the current iMac model. This version offers 4K display compared to the older generation’s 1080p. It has a quad-core 8th generation Intel Core i3 processor (but is also available with an i5 processor), and also includes Apple’s wireless mouse and keyboard. This iMac is listed for $1,299, but is reduced to $1,199.99.
For a larger display and more storage, this is the iMac you want. Its 27-inch screen displays in stunning 5K. It has a 6-core 9th generation Intel Core i5 processor. It also features two USB-C ports and comes with the wireless mouse and keyboard. Normally $2,299, this iMac is $200 off at $2,099.
