Save $30 on the new Apple iPad at Walmart
Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.
SAVE $30: The new Apple iPad (256GB, WiFi) is on sale at Walmart for just $449 as of Oct. 7. That’s 6% off its $479 MSRP.
Retailers have wasted minimal time on discounting the new iPads in the aftermath of their surprise reveals at last month’s iPhone 13 event. Amazon had the upgraded iPad mini’s base model listed for about $40 off when it was still in its preorder phase, while Walmart was taking $30 off the price of the entry-level iPad for people who reserved it ahead of its official launch.
If you weren’t part of the lucky early-bird crowd, fret not: The big box store just rolled out a similar deal on the 256GB version of the standard iPad. As of Oct. 7, you can score it on sale at Walmart for just $449 — that’s about 6% off its suggested retail price of $479, which it was still listed for at Best Buy and Target at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, Amazon‘s supply has been almost completely sold out ever since this iPad got the same discount there in late September. “Don’t dawdle” is probably a good game plan, IMO.
iPad accessories like the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard (both shown here) are sold separately.

As a quick refresher, the ninth iteration of Apple’s most popular tablet features a couple of notable updates over the previous version (from last fall): Its 10.2-inch Retina display now comes with True Tone technology for more natural-looking colors, while a peppier A13 Bionic chip delivers a 20% power boost. And for all you frequent FaceTimers out there, an upgraded 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera brings support for Center Stage, a digital centering tool that was previously exclusive to the iPad Pro.
Perhaps most importantly (depending on whom you talk to), it’s a go on the headphone jack; Apple didn’t do away with wired audio output here like it did on the new iPad mini.
Choose from two finishes: silver or that classic Apple space gray.
