Save 29% on the speedy 2-in-1 laptop
TL;DR: The 128GB Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is currently listed at just $640 on Amazon. It normally retails for $899, so you’ll be saving 29% when you take advantage of this limited-time offer.
The phrase “hitting a new low” is rarely used in a positive context. (See: Mashable’s coverage of President Donald Trump’s racist tweets and Asos’ deranged decision to sell a denim waistband.) That is, unless we’re talking about the unprecedented sale pricing of a best-in-class 2-in-1 laptop.
Amazon is now offering 29% off the Mashable’s Choice Award-winning 128GB Microsoft Surface Pro 6, bringing down its $899 MSRP to a new all-time low of just $640. In our two-ish years of covering this particular device, this is the steepest discount we’ve ever seen it get from any online retailer — yes, even counting this past Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
What’s so great about the 128GB Surface Pro 6 is that you don’t necessarily have to beef up its hardware to get a quality machine: As former Mashable tech reporter Ray Wong pointed out in his review, its entry-level version is hardly underpowered thanks to an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM. (The only reason we might suggest upgrading to the 256GB and 512GB model is if you wanted it in a modern matte black finish, as opposed to the standard platinum.) Not only that, but it’s suuuper lightweight at just 3.5 pounds — that’s a surprisingly little amount of heft for such a fast, high-performing device.
IMO, the biggest drawback to the Surface Pro 6 is that it doesn’t come with additional accessories, such as a Surface Pen or a Type Cover, so it’s effectively just a tablet straight out of the box; as a standalone device, it doesn’t offer much “convertible” functionality. But as luck would have it, both of those aforementioned add-ons are on sale now, too, so you can get your Surface Pro 6 running at its fullest potential without making your wallet sad: Click here to order the latest version of the Surface Pen for only $34.99 (a 42% savings), and go here to snag a Type Cover for as much as 40% off (depending on the color you choose).
