Samsung video hints at better battery life in the Galaxy Note 9
-
Samsung on Thursday released a teaser trailer for its
Unpacked event on August 9. -
The
video doesn’t specifically
mention the anticipated Galaxy Note 9, but instead focuses
on the poor battery life of existing
smartphones. -
Multiple rumors have hinted that the Galaxy Note 9 will
have a bigger battery than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note
8.
Samsung is likely to unveil the new Galaxy Note 9 in two weeks,
but the company just gave us a first glimpse at what we can
expect.
On Thursday, Samsung released a teaser trailer for a new device,
exactly two weeks before the company’s Unpacked Event on August 9 in
New York City.
The video doesn’t specifically mention the Galaxy Note 9,
although it’s almost certainly what Samsung will unveil at
Unpacked. Instead, the video focuses on the poor battery life of
existing smartphones, capturing the panic most people feel when
their smartphone battery dies in the middle of something
important.
“Battery can’t keep up?” the ad says. “A lot can change in a
day.”
Multiple reports up until now have hinted at a bigger battery for
the Galaxy Note 9. Gadget leaker Ice Universe claims the
Galaxy Note 9 will sport a large 3,850 mAh battery, while
another rumor
suggests the Galaxy Note 9 will sport an even larger
4,000 mAh battery. Last year’s Galaxy Note 8 features
a 3,300 mAh battery.
Either way, that extra capacity may not give the Galaxy Note 9
multi-day battery life, but it could at least improve upon what
last year’s model offered.
Multiple leaks and rumors have already given us an idea of
what to expect from the Galaxy
Note 9. Beyond better battery life, we’ve also heard that the
new device will have an improved camera, an invisible fingerprint
sensor underneath the display, and a new Samsung skin over
Android.
