Samsung Dolby Atmos sound bar on sale for $250 cheaper than Amazon
TL;DR: This Dolby Atmos-enabled Samsung sound bar is compatible with Alexa and on sale for $749.99 at the PC Mag Shop — a savings of $450 and a full $250 cheaper than Amazon’s price.
The noises that you generally find annoying are heightened when watching a movie at home in close quarters with other people.
Nails tapping on the screen while texting, chewing, and sniffling are just distracting enough to grab your attention over the important thing Kylo Ren just said. It doesn’t help that many high-end TVs are equipped with mediocre speakers, which take away from the immersive experience no matter how crisp the HDR is.
Samsung is known as a leader in 4K TVs, but it also happens to make extremely nice soundbars. PC Mag is currently offering the Samsung HW-Q80R Harman Kardan sound bar on sale, which you can take home for less than $800. [Editor’s note: PC Mag is owned by Ziff Davis, Mashable’s publisher.]
Samsung’s Q80R sound bar is the sound bar counterpart to one of Samsung’s leading OLED TVs from 2019 (the Q80R, surprisingly). It features two 8-inch driver subwoofers and a wide-range tweeter, which are large, booming, and to blame for the fact that this sound bar feels like the world’s heaviest bar of gold.
The part that non-audiophile folks will likely notice most is the fact that the Q80R fires audio from speakers on all sides (not just the front), which uses your ceilings and walls to bounce sound around for genuine theatre-like acoustics. Samsung’s adaptive technology will offer an extra boost depending on what type of sound it senses: When the speakers detect sports, they will try to create a stadium effect by putting forth equal balance for a booming announcer-type sound. News and talk shows get more attention in the middle channel for extra detail on the person talking.
Regularly $1,199.99, you can save $450 (that’s $250 extra off Amazon’s sale price of $997.99) and order the sound bar from PCMag for $749.99 with free shipping.
