Roborock S6, which also mops, is over $200 off
Save $180: The Roborock S6 robot vacuum and mop has a $180 coupon on top of its $50 discount at Amazon as of March 25.
The Roborock family has welcomed a new member. The brand, known for its robotic vacuum-mop hybrids with suction that rivals that of Roombas, released the S7 earlier in March. Two words: Sonic. Mopping.
The S7 was set to go live on Amazon and Walmart on March 24. The listings technically exist at both places now, but are saddled with “out of stock” and “currently unavailable” warnings with no restock date (or ability to add to cart) in sight.
Thus, the S6, one of our absolute favorite robot vacuums at the moment, is already back in the spotlight — and rocking a $180 coupon at Amazon, bringing the beast down to $419.99. This is on top of a $50 discount that’s already applied, though the S6 hasn’t been listed higher than $599.99 since last summer.
At any rate, it’s a mammoth discount on a well-reviewed robot mop right before dirty shoe and muddy paws season starts.
While the S7’s vibrational scrubbing and ability to raise the mop when going over carpeted areas is impressive, it doesn’t negate the S6’s stellar mopping abilities. Unlike a handful of competing robot mops, the S6 doesn’t just push water around. It wipes up gunk in clean lines (made clear when you see how brown the cloth is) and likely has time left in its 180 minute battery life to take a second pass over spots that need it. It doesn’t automatically avoid carpets like the S7, but no-go zones can be set up around carpets and area rugs. The water tank release can be customized to ensure small spaces like a half bath aren’t flooded.
But the dry suction on the S6 is easily its killer move. Suction power of 2,000 Pa blows 600-series and 900-series Roombas out of the water. That’s enough to rip pet hair from carpets (especially in Boost mode), and the average pile of crumbs or dirt is definitely toast. Business Insider’s James Brains said that, out of the 20 vacuums he’s tested, the S6 has the best suction he’s ever seen.
