Renewed Bird scooters are $110 off
TL;DR: As of Feb. 20, Renewed Bird electric scooters (ES1-300) are on sale for $289.99 on Amazon, saving you $110 versus purchasing the same scooter brand new.
In case you didn’t have a hard enough time battling the public to get the one Bird scooter sitting on the sidewalk, there’s another one to fight over. Bird released the Bird Two in Jan. 2020, upgrading to larger tires, longer battery life, and a smarter privacy system to keep hackers from jacking your ride.
But there’s another way to ensure your rented ride won’t get stolen: Get a Bird scooter for yourself. Amazon Renewed is currently offering the Bird ES1-300 scooter for $289.99 — $110 off the price of buying this model brand new. That’s also saving you spending $9-ish on a 20-minute rented ride, and no one would be surprised if Bird upped that price yet again.
More and more adults are copping their own electric scooters for a faster commute than driving during rush hour or to get around NYC’s lack of rental stations. The Bird ES1-300’s 300-watt motor can rev up to 15.5 MPH and can go about 15.5 miles on one charge, just over half of the mileage that the $1,299 Bird One scooter gets. (There’s also no built-in GPS, but that’s a really expensive feature.) Though the front and rear mechanical brakes with antilock braking plus electrical braking make for a pretty smooth, controlled ride, you should definitely still wear a damn helmet.
Amazon Renewed takes pre-owned products and refurbishes them to work and look like new. All renewed Bird scooters have been inspected and tested to have the same specs as a brand new model. However, if you’re not satisfied, Amazon offers a 90-day guarantee.
Regularly $399.99 for a new Bird ES1-300, you can save $110 and get your own for $289.99 with free shipping.
