Pre-order the new Kindle Paperwhite on Amazon ahe Nov. 7 release
The Kindle Paperwhite has been the hot e-reader option since its debut in 2012. The combo of portability, features, and price made it basically unbeatable, and no one would be surprised if it stayed the best-selling model for years, even without an upgrade.
But Amazon isn’t gonna not release an even better model. Meet the all-new 2018 Kindle Paperwhite, available for pre-order for $129.99 now and on its way to your hands on Nov. 7.
REVIEW: Amazon’s new Kindle Paperwhite shows e-readers can still get better
E-readers may not be as complex as a full-on tablet, but that doesn’t mean they have no room to glow up — and the new Paperwhite is proof. We’ll give a basic breakdown, but you can find all of the juicy details in our full review here.
What we loved about the older model: It was thin, lightweight, had a backlit and glare-free display, a battery that lasted weeks, and was downright simple to use. No bells and whistles, but in a good way.
How the new model tops that: It’s 10% thinner and 10% lighter than before, has a backlit 300 ppi glare-free display, still has a battery that lasts weeks, and is still a breeze to use — but it’s also now waterproof with double the storage.
Yup, you can really drop it in the freaking hot tub (technically in up to two meters of water for an hour) without worry. Lazy days in the pool or relaxing nights in a bubble bath can now be accompanied by your favorite book — no waterlogged pages in sight.
With two times the storage of the older model and your choice of 8 GB or 32 GB, all of your favorite books, magazines, comics, audiobooks, and more can come with you wherever you go. And with a Kindle Unlimited membership and LTE connectivity, download possibilities are pretty damn endless.
It’s also overflowing with new features, including Amazon’s Whispersync For Voice technology that can synchronize your reading progress, bookmarks, and digital annotations across all Kindle devices.
The best part? It’s only $10 more than the previous generation. Pre-order your new Kindle for $129.99 here, or add it to your basket and keep an eye on it next month — we have a feeling this could go on sale for Black Friday.
