Pre-Black Friday Amazon sale on Garmin smartwatches, fitness trackers
TL;DR: Garmin smartwatches and fitness trackers are on sale on Amazon for up to 56% off.
Here’s some fun trivia you can impress your friends with: Black Friday typically isn’t the best time of year to buy wearable tech. Nope — according to the experts over at Consumer Reports, a nonprofit product review organization, you’ll actually want to wait until December.
It makes sense when you think about it from a retailer’s perspective: December is when shoppers are both hunting for holiday gifts and starting to think about their New Year’s resolutions, so it’s easy to entice them with discounts on smartwatches and fitness trackers. It’s a sale sweet spot, so to speak.
Of course, Amazon just had to throw a wrench in things by slashing the prices on a bunch of Garmin smartwatches and fitness trackers early this morning on Nov. 7. But you know what? We’re not even mad: It’s hard to imagine the discounts on these bad boys getting any better in the coming weeks — so if you want to get a jump on some of your holiday shopping before everyone else, now’s your chance.
Take your pick from the following models:
Released in 2015, this GPS running watch is the ultimate running companion. It comes with a built-in heart rate monitor, GLONASS mapping, smart notifications, and a bunch of different training modes for customized indoor and outdoor workouts. It normally retails for $249.99, but you can get it on Amazon in black/gray for just $149.99 — a 40% savings.
The runner-friendly Forerunner 35 also features a built-in GPS, activity-tracking tools, and heart monitoring features, but its design is much lighter than that of the 235. It’s currently being sold on the Garmin website for $169.99, but you can order it on Amazon in limelight or frost blue for only $119 — a 30% savings.
This snazzy little GPS smartwatch comes equipped with more than 15 sports apps, a stress-tracking tool, and the Garmin Pay contactless payment system. It’s on sale in a couple of different colors, but its white/silver model is cheapest at a mere $149.99. (That’s a 40% savings.)
Calling all outdoor enthusiasts: This rugged AF GPS smartwatch featuring a three-axis compass, a barometric altimeter, activity tracking, and multiple global navigation satellite systems was made especially for you. It’s also on sale in several colors, but you’ll get the best deal if you order it in flame red: That particular model is marked down to only $228.89 (a 24% savings).
Comfortable enough for 24/7 wear, this slim GPS fitness tracker is one of the rare wearables that’s swim-friendly. It retailed for $179.99 before Garmin discontinued it, but Amazon still has it in stock in midnight/force blue for just $79.99 — a 56% savings.
