PlayStation Classic is on sale for $45 off — the best price we’ve ever seen on Amazon for this retro console
Want to take a trip back to 1995? No, time machines aren’t on sale today (but it would be cool if they were real). Get a taste of what it was like to grow up during the ’90s with the PlayStation Classic, which is now on sale for $54.99, or 45% off its retail price, on Amazon.
This is the lowest price Amazon has EVER offered on this mini-console, which is 45% smaller than the original. It comes with two wired retro PlayStation controllers, a virtual memory card, and an HDMI cable that plugs directly into modern flat screen TVs. The retro console also comes with 20 pre-loaded games with a few classics and favorites, such as Final Fantasy Vll, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.
It’s weird. Video game graphics have never been more advanced and detailed with true-to-life gameplay and smoothness, but companies are getting into retro gaming to tap into the nostalgia of everyone who grew up during the ’90s.
A few years ago, the Nintendo Classic Edition was a best-seller that people couldn’t get their hands on because it kept selling out everywhere, while the Super Nintendo Classic Edition raised the bar with what these mini-consoles could do. The PlayStation Classic extends this trend for all those non-Nintendo folks.
What other games does the PS Classic include? Scroll down and check out the entire list below. There might be a few surprising titles.
Not convinced? Amazon customer Justin writes:
“What a nostalgic weekend I just had… it felt like I was in 1995 again. I used to wake up before my parents would get up run into the living room and play PlayStation Saturday and Sunday mornings!! Now I get to wake up before my fiancé wakes up running to the living room to play PlayStation in 2019 lol. This system is what started it all for me as a kid growing up in the 90s. Thanks a lot Sony for offering this. I have had a lot of fun with it already!”
