Motiv fitness and sleep tracking ring now works with iPhone and Android smartphones
MotivThere are two main problems with modern fitness trackers: they constantly need to be charged, and they look obvious and ugly on your wrist.
But a device called the Motiv ring, which launched last summer, solves both of those problems. The $200 ring is designed to be worn on your hand 24 hours a day, and its charge lasts for up to five days. When it does need to be charged, it just sits on a small charger you can attach to your keychain.
The Motiv ring is a heart rate sensor, fitness tracker, and sleep tracker, and it’s about the size of a wedding band — Motiv aimed to make the ring as small and slim as possible while still counting your steps, tracking your runs, and helping you get a sound sleep.
I tried the Motiv ring last year, and it was one of my favorite fitness trackers I’ve ever used.
But there’s always been one glaring issue with the Motiv ring: it only worked with iPhones. Thankfully, Motiv has finally solved that issue. Starting Tuesday, the ring is compatible with Android phones.
So whether you’re an Android user who can finally consider buying one, or an iPhone user thinking about giving it a try, here’s everything you need to know about the Motiv ring.
