Land Rover finally lets you connect your car to 2 phones at same time
Switching Bluetooth connections from your phone to your friend’s phone is such a pain in the car, especially since it’s always buried deep in some menu setting.
Land Rover is tackling this small, but annoying inconvenience.
Ahead of CES, the company unveiled a new feature in its 2020 Land Rover Defender that allows two phones to connect to the car simultaneously via Bluetooth.
That’s possible with two LTE modems from Qualcomm and a 10-inch high-res touchscreen. The dual system can handle downloading over-the-air updates while still streaming music and other apps.
And while other car companies let multiple phones connect via Bluetooth, it often takes many steps. Land Rover’s system is much easier to use, which means riding shotgun just got a lot better.
