TL;DR: Instant Pot’s new Instant Vortex Plus is an air fryer and six other appliances in one, and it’s on sale for $69 — a savings of $50 — exclusively at Walmart.

Air fryers will undoubtedly be one of the hottest items for Prime Day 2019, but Walmart wants to beat Amazon to the punch.

How?

By currently being the only place you can snag the 7-in-1 Instant Vortex Plus, the long-awaited air fryer (and roaster, and toaster oven, and food dehydrator, and more) from Instant Pot. (It hit the market on July 9, 2019.) That’s more than reason enough to get excited, but there’s more: Through July 17, you can save $50 and get the Instant Vortex Plus for just $69.

Competing air fryers from leaders like Philips and Ninja are typically twice that, even when they’re on sale, and despite the fact that they have fewer functions and smaller capacities than the 10-quart Instant Vortex Plus.

Instant Pot took their sweet time entering this market and it paid off. Unlike the seemingly rushed release of the Instant Pot Max, Instant Pot took the time to perfect cooking techniques and correct downfalls of competing models.

The Vortex Plus looks like no air fryer you’ve seen before because it’s unlike any air fryer you’ve seen before. Instant Pot nixed the typical pull-out basket design and opted for a spacious oven shape, optimized for even crisping. The overhead heating element and motorized fan rapidly blow air from every direction, almost completely eliminating oil use.

It’s also one of the only devices we’ve seen that can truly double as a 360-degree roaster. Swap the trays out for a rotating rotisserie basket to roast a whole chicken, toss shrimp, or make golden-brown fries without flipping. It’s totally hands off on your part, and the omnipresent heat can decrease cooking times by 20%.

The touchscreen display has a myriad of buttons to select cooking times and temperature, or let Instant Pot take the wheel with seven preset programs: air fry, bake, roast, broil, dehydrate, reheat, and rotate. Another button tells the Vortex to remember your settings for next time.

Regularly $119, you can save $50 and get it for $69 with free two-day delivery from Walmart.
