Exclusive LEGO sets. Dirt-cheap video games. Grogu pet costumes. A Jedi craves these things.(opens in a new tab)
And those are exactly the types of things we’re getting for Star Wars Day 2023. The brand-driven holiday that celebrates the beloved space saga every year on “May the 4th” (because wordplay) has ushered in an exciting lineup of limited-time deals and new product releases across retailers.
Below, we’ve put together a running list of all of the offers you shouldn’t miss, whether you’re a casual fan, a hardcore collector, or a stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder.
May the 4th sales
Amazon — save on select Star Wars toys, apparel, and more
Amazon’s May the 4th sale(opens in a new tab) is a one-day sitewide event that’s crammed with Star Wars-themed toys, collectibles(opens in a new tab), apparel(opens in a new tab), rugs(opens in a new tab), blankets, drinkware(opens in a new tab), books(opens in a new tab), and even Amazon devices(opens in a new tab). Its main landing page says discounts go up to 44% off, but we found some even higher ones. (There’s a 55% discount on a talking Baby Yoda plush toy(opens in a new tab) and a 50% markdown on the third-generation Echo Dot stand(opens in a new tab) that looks like him, for example.)
Target — save on select Star Wars clothing, accessories, and gifts
Available online for today only, Target’s May the 4th deals(opens in a new tab) span its apparel and toy departments — and like Amazon, the actual discounts also exceed their advertised limit of 20% off. Highlights include an officially licensed Star Wars x JoyJolt cold brew maker(opens in a new tab) (sure!) and some Target-exclusive Star Wars Funko POP! figurines of Luke Skywalker(opens in a new tab) and Chewbacca(opens in a new tab) that have rare discounts in their preorder phase.
Walmart — save on Star Wars merch and preorder new action figures
The majority of the big box store’s May the 4th deals can be found in its apparel, home, and toy departments(opens in a new tab). (We saw some decent discounts on the Death Star Trench Run Diorama(opens in a new tab), The Mandalorian Helmet(opens in a new tab), other collectible LEGO Star Wars sets floating around in the latter.) Walmart’s also put several exclusive new Star Wars action figures(opens in a new tab) from Hasbro’s Black Series line(opens in a new tab) up for preorder today, which go for $27.97 apiece and ship by early September.
LEGO Star Wars Day sale — get free gift(s) with your purchase and earn double the VIP points for discounts
LEGO is giving away three exclusive gifts with select purchases (while supplies last) as part of its Star Wars Day celebration(opens in a new tab), which runs online and in LEGO Stores through Sunday, May 7:
Consider signing up for that VIP rewards program even if you’re not interested in any of the May the 4th freebies. All LEGO Star Wars purchases made through May 7 will nab you double the VIP points, which you can redeem for discounts on the Dark Trooper Helmet(opens in a new tab) ($15 off) or AT-ST(opens in a new tab) ($5 off) sets while the sale is still live.
Chewy.com Star Wars Day sale — save on select themed pet supplies and accessories
From R2-DR squeaky toys(opens in a new tab) to Darth Vader lick mats(opens in a new tab) and catnip-filled Millennium Falcon ribbon wands(opens in a new tab), Chewy has all sorts of Star Wars-inspired gear(opens in a new tab) for dogs and cats on sale this May the 4th. (Whoever thought of the dog bed shaped like Grogu’s stroller(opens in a new tab) deserves a promotion.) Better yet, this coincides with Chewy’s National Pet Month offer where you’ll get a free $30 gift card for every $100 spent — just be sure to enter the coupon code SHOP at checkout.
Star Wars films — save up to 80%
Here’s a good excuse to schedule a May the 4th movie marathon: All nine episodes of the Skywalker saga and both standalone spin-offs (Rogue One and Solo) are on sale in the Microsoft Store(opens in a new tab) until May 9. Prices start at $3.99 and $7.99 for individual rentals and purchases, respectively, with bundles featuring bonus content available for the nine main films(opens in a new tab) (50% off) and the sequel trilogy(opens in a new tab) (62% off).
Star Wars video games — save up to 85%
You’ll find a handful of greatestselling Star Wars games for Xbox on sale at extra-deep discounts in the Microsoft Store, too. They’re all live through the end of the day today (May 4):
Looking for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor? It’s not on sale anywhere today (unless you opt for a console bundle — more on that in a sec), but Amazon will give you a $10 credit you can put toward a future purchase if you enter the coupon code EAJEDI10 at checkout when purchasing a copy for the PlayStation 5(opens in a new tab) or Xbox Series X(opens in a new tab). Similarly, Target(opens in a new tab) will give you a free $10 gift card when you buy a copy of the standard or deluxe edition there ($69.99 or $89.99, respectively).
Xbox Series S + Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — save $35
Read Mashable’s full review of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The latest Star Wars video game features a surprisingly meaty storyline and “a mini-open-world with a staggering amount of stuff to do,” said Mashable tech and games reporter Alex Perry, who called it a “worthy” successor to 2019’s fantastic Jedi: Fallen Order. It’ll look great on a new console, and you’ll save $35 when by bundling it with the disc-drive-free Xbox Series S ($299.99) through the Microsoft Store(opens in a new tab) or Amazon(opens in a new tab). You can opt for the standard version or the Xbox Series S – Gilded Hunter Bundle(opens in a new tab), which includes downloadable add-on content for Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.
May the 4th releases
New arrivals and exclusives at shopDisney
The Disney Store’s official online hub launched a bunch of new merch and collectibles(opens in a new tab) for May the 4th 2023:
-
The Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Collection(opens in a new tab) introduces new clothing, drinkware, plush toys, pet outfits, MagicBand+ designs, ear headbands, and prop replicas inspired by the saga’s sixth episode. (That includes a life-sized, light-up, motion-activated reproduction of Luke’s green lightsaber(opens in a new tab).)
-
Three new Star Wars-y additions to Starbucks’ Been There Series of location-themed mugs have illustrations of memorable scenes from the planets Jakku(opens in a new tab), Coruscant(opens in a new tab), and Mustafar(opens in a new tab). They’re $24.99 each.
-
The RSVLTS x Star Wars collection(opens in a new tab) features four exclusive button-down shirts in pop art-y Star Wars patterns that are priced at $72 apiece. Two are available for purchase immediately, and the other pair is still up for preorder.
-
A limited-edition replica of Cal Kestis’ customized lightsaber hilt(opens in a new tab) from the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is up for grabs for $400. Only 7,000 were made, and they’ll probably sell out quickly.
A quick PSA that you can get free shipping on any order of $75 or more with the promo code SHIPMAGIC.
LEGO X-Wing Starfighter
This brick-ified version of the iconic Rebel Alliance spacecraft is the newest entry in LEGO’s Ultimate Collector Series(opens in a new tab), and the design’s third iteration since 2000. It’s even bigger and more complex this time around, with 1,949 total pieces, adjustable wings, a display plaque, and a new Luke figurine decked out in an orange pilot suit. It sold out on the LEGO website, but you can still buy it through shopDisney(opens in a new tab).
The updated X-Wing Starfighter joins several other new LEGO Star Wars releases from May 1, including:
Limited-edition Star Wars stands for Amazon Echo Dots
Compatible with Amazon’s fourth and fifth-generation Amazon Echo Dot smart speakers, this new trio of stands shaped like iconic Star Wars characters’ helmets have eyes that light up when you call out Alexa’s name. (There’s a Darth Vader one, a Stormtrooper one, and a Mandalorian one.) You can buy them individually(opens in a new tab) for $39.99 apiece or bundle one(opens in a new tab) with the fifth-gen Echo Dot for $68.98, which works out to a $20 savings.
The Mandalorian candles from Homesick
Homesick added two new candles inspired by the first two seasons of The Mandalorian to its Star Wars “scent saga” for May the 4th, in case you’ve ever wondered what Din Djarin’s Razor Crest maybe, possibly smelled like inside. The Bounty(opens in a new tab) features notes of ash, smoke, and pine needles, while The Rescue(opens in a new tab) has hints of sea moss, warm guaiac wood, and sheer musk. Both are priced at $44 and come in the fragrance brand’s first-ever gradient jars, which pay homage to the colorful planets in the Disney+ series.
PopSockets special-edition Dimensionals Millennium Falcon Grip
Another subtle way to rep your Star Wars fandom, PopSocket’s new special-edition Dimensionals Millennium Falcon(opens in a new tab) is a high-end smartphone grip/stand that looks like a miniature replica of everyone’s favorite freighter. It joins two other $55 grips in the Dimensionals collection: one that looks like Darth Vader’s mask(opens in a new tab), and another that looks like a Stormtrooper helmet(opens in a new tab).
