Get an Echo Dot for just .99 cents with this Audible deal
TL;DR: You can get a third-generation Echo Dot smart speaker (a $49.99 value) for just .99 cents when you sign up for a 12-month Audible membership, now on sale for $119.50.
Amazon is trying to get you to put down the paperbacks.
Now through July 31 (or while supplies last), the tech giant is shaving $30 off the price of a year’s worth of Audible and throwing in your choice of 12 audiobooks *plus* a credit that’s redeemable for a 99-cent third-generation Echo Dot.
The deal is worth $199.49 total, but you’ll pay less than $120 for all those goodies. Sheesh.
Owned by Amazon since 2008, Audible is an app-based entertainment service that provides access to thousands of audiobooks, podcasts, guided programs, and other audio content. It normally costs $149.95 a year, but you’ll pay just $119.95 for a 12-month membership that includes a dozen audiobooks of your choice, which you’ll be able to keep even if you cancel your subscription.
The Echo Dot, for its part, is a compact smart speaker with more than 50,000 Alexa skills. (Read our full review of the device here.) Using just your voice, you can have it play some tunes, check the weather, control connected smart home devices, read the news, set alarms, and much more. It’s valued at $49.99, but you’ll get it for just .99 cents through this Audible deal. (Check your email after you sign up; your credit for the Dot should arrive within 48 hours.)
Note: This deal is only available to Amazon Prime members who aren’t already Audible members.
