Fire tablets and Kindle e-readers are on sale for up to $50 off

There’s a lot of debate around what this upcoming school year is going to look like, but it certainly seems like at-home learning will play a role. That means kids are going to need some sort of device like a laptop or tablet to do their school work on, and if their school doesn’t provide one, it’s on the parents to do so.

As of July 20, Amazon has quite a few Fire tablets and Kindle readers on sale. They’re obviously not just for kids doing e-learning, so you should check these deals out for yourself as well.

With a battery life of 12 hours, the Fire HD 10 tablet is ready to go virtually all day. It’s fast and has a nice, big 10-inch screen that displays in 1080p full HD. You have the option to get 32GB or 64GB of storage, with the ability to add up to 512GB with a microSD card. The tablet has Alexa built in for voice control, features front and rear cameras, and charges via USB-C.

This is the all-new Fire HD 8 model, which we saw go on sale for the first time last month. It’s at the same discounted price of $30 off. Like the HD 10, this tablet has a 12-hour battery life, charges via USB-C, and and comes with either 32GB or 64GB of storage. This one has the ability to extend up to 1TB of space with a microSD card, though. It has an 8-inch HD display and is great for taking on the go.

For a basic, low-priced tablet, turn to the Fire 7. It’s smaller than Amazon’s other Fire tablets, with its display clocking in at seven inches. It’s not HD, but it is pretty fast and has decent storage — with a 16GB or 32GB option, both getting an additional 512GB with a microSD. It has front and back cameras and is best for leisure apps and e-books. 

For a tablet designed specifically for kids, the Fire HD 10 Kids is pretty impressive. It’s a legitimate tablet with full features like 12-hour battery life, 32GB of internal storage, WiFi connectivity, and more. The tablet comes with a kid-proof case and a year of access to Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, which is a huge library of apps, games, books, videos, shows, and more made with kids in mind. There’s also a parent dashboard that lets parents set controls, time limits, and educational goals.

Very similar to the Fire HD 10 Kids Edition, this version has a slightly smaller 8-inch HD display. It also has 32GB of storage, 12 hours of battery, and comes with a year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited. 

Like the regular Fire 7 tablet, the kids version is smaller and more basic. It has a 16GB capacity and a seven-hour battery life. It does still include a kid-proof case and a year of FreeTime Unlimited. This is a good tablet for younger kids.

The Kindle Paperwhite is the ultimate e-reader no matter where you like to do your reading. It has a glare-free display that reads like actual paper even when you’re outside in direct sunlight. This Kindle is waterproof, giving you peace of mind when you get sucked into a book at the beach or by the pool. Grab an 8GB or 32 GB model depending on how many books, magazines, and audiobooks you want to store.

The OG Kindle also features a glare-free display that reads like a paper book. Within the e-reader you can highlight passages, look up definitions, translate words, and adjust text size. Compared to the Kindle Paperwhite, this Kindle is not waterproof and has a smaller storage choice with only a 4GB option.
