Echo Dot smart speakers are on sale for 40% off on Amazon
TL;DR: Snag a third-generation Echo Dot smart speaker from Amazon for just $29.99. They’re normally $49.99, so you’ll save $20.
Ah, Prime Day 2019: It was the best of times; it was the weirdest of times. And with tons of markdowns on Amazon gadgets, it was the ideal time to upgrade to a new e-reader, streaming device, or Alexa-equipped smart speaker.
Speaking of the latter: Save for a single day in early August when it dipped down to an all-time-low price of $24.99, the third-generation Echo Dot hasn’t been on sale since Prime Day (when Amazon was practically giving them away).
If you’ve been patiently waiting for a good deal since then, we have some good news for you: As of this week, the Echo Dot is on sale once again — this time at a 40% discount that brings its price down to under $30. (Not sure whether to get the Echo Dot or the OG Echo? Click here.)
Offering decent sound quality and volume for its size and support for wireless stereo pairing, the Echo Dot earned itself a spot on Mashable’s Best of Tech list in 2018. It also sports an elegant and compact fabric design that comes in three colors — charcoal, heather gray, and sandstone — which was one of the reasons it nabbed a solid 4.25/5-star rating in our review last year.
As for the “smart” aspects of Amazon’s little smart speaker: The Echo Dot has the Alexa virtual assistant built-in so you can adjust your music, control compatible smart devices, make calls, and perform queries (“Alexa, how hot is it going to be today?”) using just your voice.
Head over to Amazon to get the third-gen Echo Dot for just $29.99.
