DIY soap dispenser plays 20 seconds of Spotify so you can stop singing ‘Happy Birthday’
Seriously, who the hell are you singing “Happy Birthday” to when washing your hands?
Deeplocal, for one, is suggesting that you sing literally anything else.
The creative engineering and experience design company recently released DIY instructions on Github for Scrubber, a smart soap dispenser that plays music from your Spotify playlist for 20 seconds as you’re scrubbing your hands squeaky clean.
It will take a bit of work, no doubt. But the instructions are simple enough for anyone who has the patience, the will, and the ability to Google a few things.
You’ll need to forage some electrical parts — about $30 worth of them — and get a few tools handy as you prepare for assembly.
Be prepared to do some coding, too. But don’t worry about it too much. That part’s already done for you, so all you have to copy and paste.
It should take just about four hours to assemble Scrubber. But maybe that’s a good thing. What else are you going to do while stuck at home anyway?
