Business Insider launches ‘Household Name’ podcast series
Hosted by Dan Bobkoff, the show reveals hidden surprises behind
today’s top brands.
NEW YORK CITY — Business Insider and top podcast listening
service and content network Stitcher (“Heaven’s Gate,” “Katie
Couric,” “GOSSIP”) today announced the launch of a new podcast
series, “Household Name,”
which explores amazing offbeat stories about some of the most
popular brands today.
Launching today, the show is available through the Stitcher app,
Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms.
In the series, Business Insider’s Dan Bobkoff examines some of
today’s most ubiquitous brands to uncover tales of tragedy, love,
strange histories, unintended consequences, and accidental
success. Bobkoff also looks at how these brands have changed our
lives — for better or worse.
Season one of “Household Name” looks at how TGI Fridays grew out
of the sexual revolution as perhaps America’s first singles bar;
the tragic story behind Charles Shaw, a pioneer of Napa wine
whose name became better known as “Two Buck Chuck” at Trader
Joe’s; how Donald and Ivana Trump saved stuffed-crust pizza (and
it saved The Donald!); and more.
