Apple TV is now available for all Android TV devices
Aching to use Apple TV on your Android TV? You’re in luck, because the Apple TV app is now widely available on all newer devices running Android TV.
Several vendors announced the availability of Apple TV on their devices, including Nvidia, which said on Tuesday the Apple TV app, as well as the Apple TV+ service, are now available on its Shield TV.
Philips joined the party on Wednesday with the announcement that Apple TV and TV+ are coming to all Philips TVs, with the Apple TV app coming pre-installed to 2021 model year devices.
Previously, Apple TV was available on Sony Bravia TV sets, but not on Android TVs from other manufacturers.
But it’s not just these brands. Google told 9to5Google that Apple TV is now available for the entire Android TV OS ecosystem, meaning basically all newer streaming boxes and TVs running Android TV. The basic requirement is that the device is running 8.0 Oreo or higher, and Apple TV should be available from the Google Play app store.
