Apple AirPods 2 are on sale for a record low of $19.01 off at Amazon
It feels like only yesterday we were freaking out about the original AirPods being $12 off on Amazon.
We were so young and naive back then.
If you slept on that deal, be very, very glad: Amazon has the AirPods 2 (yes, as in the latest model just released in March 2019) on sale for $19.01 off.
Translation: The latest AirPods are are literally cheaper than the older model right now.
Amazon currently says they won’t ship until mid-May, but for $139, it’s well worth the wait. This isn’t a deal you can count on popping up regularly — Best Buy is in the midst of an Apple Sale Event right now and doesn’t have AirPods on sale at all.
If you’re an iPhone user, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ve considered copping AirPods at least once. Apple’s W1 chip (called the H1 chip in the new AirPods) was made for seamless syncs between your phone and your AirPods, letting you skip that Bluetooth pairing mess all together. When your carrying case is opened, these smart buds automatically pair — they’ll also stop playing music when removed from your ear, and resume when put back in.
Those seemingly-random extra holes actually house optical sensors with accelerometers, meaning your headphones know as much about your environment as your phone does.
New features unique to the AirPods 2 include hands-free Siri and longer talk time. Sound quality is the one area in which the AirPods 2 actually doesn’t have any upgrades, but we can’t really complain — the audio in the first AirPods is still some of the crispest, most balanced you can get in earbuds right now. (Another upgrade to the new AirPods was a wireless charging case. The model on sale doesn’t have that case, but you’re saving yourself 60 bucks.)
Regularly $159, you can save $19.01 and grab the newest AirPods for $139.
