Amazon’s holiday toy catalog is an evil/genius way to make parents spend money
As a kid, I loved flicking through holiday toy catalogs.
While Toys “R” Us catalogs may be no longer, Amazon has again taken a leaf from the brick-and-mortar world by launching its own catalog for the very first time, reports CNBC.
Mailed to customers, it’s reminiscent like the toy catalogs of yesteryear, with entire sections dedicated to LEGO, board games, and plush toys. The electronics and games also happen to be right at the back, just as I remembered them.
The difference, however, is that Amazon’s catalog has no prices listed on any of its pages, making parents use the Amazon app to scan product images to add it to their cart.
Wait till your kids catch wind of this evil/genius way to get you to spend money on them.
There are also QR codes, a.k.a. SmileCodes, which show related items when you scan them using the Amazon app.
Given Amazon’s foray into brick-and-mortar stores, it’s hardly surprising that the online retailer is looking to the past. Now it’ll just need to find some way to replicate the mall Santa.
Here’s the catalog for you to pester your parents with later.

n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;
n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version=’2.0′;n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;
t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window,
document,’script’,’https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js’);

mashKit.gdpr.trackerFactory(function() {
fbq(‘track’, “PageView”);
}).render();
