Amazon’s Echo Buds are on sale for the first time ever — save $40
TL;DR: Amazon’s wireless Echo Buds are $40 off— the first time they’ve been on sale since their release.
At its hardware event in September 2019, Amazon announced a pair of wireless earbuds with Alexa skills called Echo Buds. They officially hit the Amazon marketplace in late October, and now they are on sale for the first time since their release.
The earbuds usually cost $129.99, but they’re currently on sale for $89.99, saving you $40.
Amazon’s Echo Buds are obviously a response to Apple’s AirPods, but Mashable Senior Tech Reporter Karissa Bell says “it’s pretty clear…they are not AirPods competitors.”
Echo Buds feature immersive sound with Bose Active Noise Reduction technology. Background sounds won’t be completely blocked out, but you will hear less distracting noise. The buds’ design is a little clunky, with a very similar look to Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. If you have smaller ears, these might not be a great fit for you.
You’ll enjoy up to five hours of continuous listening on a full charge, with the charging case providing up to 20 hours of playback before needing plugged in. (More than Galaxy Buds, but less than AirPods.) Hands-free controls are easy with Alexa built into the earbuds. Siri and Google Assistant are also available to you if you prefer.
While the Echo Buds aren’t super outstanding wireless earbuds, they are more affordable and still provide good sound quality with decent playback time. Snag them while they’re on sale for $89.99 and save $40.
