Amazon’s Alexa will do your bidding from a Lamborghini sports car
It’s not just Audi, BMW, Ford, Lexus, Toyota, Lincoln, and soon Volkswagen and General Motors that have voice control built into the car. Amazon’s digital assistant Alexa is next taking a luxury ride in a Lamborghini.
The 2020 Lamborghini Huracán EVO ultra-luxury sports car (the 2020 model starts at more than $260,000) will come with Alexa built into the infotainment system, so you can ask the assistant to play a certain song or add groceries to your shopping cart just with your voice.
This is the most expensive car yet to feature Alexa natively as part of the car system. Fancy car owners like to play Jeopardy! while commuting, too.
Less surprisingly, Alexa will also come in the upcoming Rivian electric SUV and truck, both expected to arrive by the end of the year. Amazon is one of Rivian’s main investors, pouring in money to the newest EV company twice last year. Amazon’s delivery fleet will also add 100,000 Rivian electric vans in the next few years, and all of those will be Alexa-enabled as well.
General Motors announced back in September that Alexa would be built into its car system for all your navigation, media, and calling needs.
Starting this year Chevy, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac owners can chat with Alexa through the infotainment system of their 2018 and newer cars. Volkswagen announced in December its newest Golf would be Alexa-fied.
Alexa is everywhere.
