Amazon is having a great smart home sale, with savings on smart plugs, lightbulbs, doorbells, security cameras, and more
Incase you’ve been dabbling with the idea of turning your house into a full-blown smart home (we know, once you’ve experienced Alexa it’s hard not to imagine all the possibilities), now is definitely a good time to test out some products since Amazon is selling a bunch of our favorites for up to 20% off.
The sale covers all of the necessary gadgets that will allow you to control anything from lights, security cameras, baby monitors, your front door, and more — from wherever, whenever.
Below are just a few of our favorite deals, but you can check out the entire smart home sale here.

Arlo Pro 2 Security Camera System
This indoor/outdoor wireless security system is pretty much everything you’d want to ensure the easiest, most accurate monitoring of your home. With crisp 1080p HD video and automatic night vision, you’ll never miss a thing, especially with the 3-second lookback feature that allows you to view activity up to three seconds before a triggered event. Tired of passing cars on the street setting off your motion alarm? With the Arlo you can actually highlight specific areas in your camera’s view that you want to receive motion and sound alerts on, so when you do get an alert, you know it’s worth a view. It also has two-way audio, so you can hear *and* respond to any action going down on your turf. Like any good smart device, the Arlo system is also compatible with Amazon Alexa, Echo Show, Fire TV, and Google Assistant for voice control.
Getting up to see who’s at the door has never been so unnecessary with the Ring Video Doorbell. The Ring Pro allows you to do all of the things you’d normally do at your front door (check who’s outside, speak to visitors, judge your neighbor’s parallel parking) all from the comfort of your couch. With the Ring, you’ll get mobile alerts when anyone comes to your front door, at which point you can view them in 1080HD video and even speak to them if you’d like. Like with the Arlo security system, you can also customize motion detection, so focusing on your front porch will prevent the joggers on the sidewalk (or that neighbor with the bad parallel parking) from blowing up your phone with alerts. Also Alexa compatible, you can connect the Ring Pro and ask Alexa to show you the front door on select devices.
Get these for just $10 with code SMART10 at checkout:
Good news for anyone who’s constantly worried about whether or not they left something plugged in after leaving the house: Amazon now has the TP-Link HS105 smart plug and the LIFX mini white smart bulb on sale for just $10 each. Just use the code SMART10 at checkout.
The Smart Wifi Plug mini is a compact little plug that fits into any standard wall outlet. Once you plug it in, you can connect it to any existing WiFi source, download the Kasa app, and instantly control any device you plug into it through the app. What’s more, it’s also compatible with both Alexa and Google Assistant, so you also have the option of controlling it by voice command. (As someone who is constantly leaving the hair straightener on, this thing is practically a necessity to ensure I don’t burn the house down.)
The LIFX mini smart bulb works similarly to the smart plug, since if also requires that you connect to an existing WiFi unit and is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. With the smart bulb, the free LIFX app will let you turn your lights on and off, and even control the dimness, so you can set whatever mood lighting you want. The bulb itself is round and compact so it looks nicer and fits into more compact structures. Since it’s an LED bulb it also consumes less energy than a standard incandescent bulb. It’s also only 1.5 inches, so you don’t have to worry about it blocking any adjacent power sockets. Whether you want to turn a light off after you’ve left the house, turn a light on when on vacation so nobody knows you’re away, or if you just want the convenience of asking Alexa to dim the lights from across the room, this smart bulb is a clutch investment.
There are plenty more great smart home deals where these came from, so check out the entire sale here.
