Amazon is currently offering 55% off Grado’s legendary SR60 headphones
Audiophiles and casual listeners everywhere, LISTEN UP. Because we’re kind of flipping out over this deal and we’re sure you will too.
When it comes to getting quality sound at a reasonable price, the legendary are undeniably top-notch. They usually go for about $80, which is pretty great to begin with, considering the sound they deliver is comparable to (if not better than) headphones 4 times the price-point. Which is why you should stop everything and
Getting the is basically unheard of. To put it in perspective: the lowest price we’ve seen on these (before now) is closer to $49 — and that was two years ago.
You’ll have to wait 1-2 months for the headphones to ship since they’re currently out of stock, but it’s honestly well worth the wait for quite possibly the best headphones you can get at this price point.
In case you need further convincing, just check the :
“I don’t take sound quality lightly. I listen to all FLAC on my computer and own a few hundred LPs. I bought an external sound interface because I couldn’t stand internal sound cards. I designed and built my own pair of speakers with high end parts (planar tweeters). I took a bunch of audio production classes in college and got to hear real studio monitors and headphones. Yet to this day, I’ve never heard a pair of headphones that can touch the sound of these $80 Grados. Sure, they look like something out of the 40s and they provide very little sound isolation, but that all takes back seat to the sheer musicality and detail you get with these things. Very comfortable, too.”
“There are extensive reviews of the sound quality written by much more qualified authors; as a daily listener I would agree that these are the best headphone I’ve used. My main interest is maximizing quality and minimizing cost, thus per the recommendation of a musician friend I tried these out. The sound quality is impeccable, especially the staging; you can hear exactly where the mixer placed the crash cymbol and bass guitar. Ear pads are not the most comfortable but you quickly forget about this if you’re paying attention at all to the music. Living in NYC the open ear format is perfect; I don’t have to worry about not hearing essential noises (people yelling, subways approaching), but can still drown out conversations or seem like I can’t hear strangers on the street. Great sound quality, great style, no better price, and made here in Brooklyn.”
Aside from super-clean, balanced sound, the have a flexible, soft vinyl headband with metal adjusters that allow the earpiece to rotate a full 360 degrees so that they can lie flat on a surface (great for packing in a suitcase.) They also come with Grado’s new, driver-covering ear pads for improved comfort, and have a straight cord that attaches to both earpieces.
This one’s a no-brainer folks. You’ll be thanking yourself in a month or two for not missing out on this. Get the Grado SR60 Prestige series headphones for $35.50
