The more you get into cooking, the more likely you are to notice approximately one million specialized appliances that you need to prepare your meals. Most of us don’t have industrial-sized kitchens with endless storage space, which is why combo appliances — like, say, a grill and griddle combo — can be really good investments.
As of Sept. 20, the Cuisinart Griddler Five is on sale for $99.95 at Amazon. Don’t let the name “griddler” fool you — you can do a lot more with this appliance than make a killer stack of pancakes. The Griddler functions as a contact grill, full griddle, full grill, half grill/half griddle (i.e. half steak, half eggs, full deliciousness), and wonderfully, a panini press. In other words, it’s great for the multifunctional cook and the apartment dweller who doesn’t own a grill.
Yes, you can make all of this.

This appliance isn’t just for those who feel at home in the kitchen. If you dream of making the perfect brie and fig panini but aren’t exactly a “home cook,” don’t sweat it. The Griddler’s LCD display makes it easy to note the timer, cook function, and temperature as it preheats then cooks your food.
If you’re bummed that this appliance resembles a waffle iron but doesn’t seem to make waffles, don’t get too sad. Cuisinart makes waffle plates that pop right in to the Griddler. The extra cost isn’t ideal, but at least you can turn your Griddler Five into a Griddler Six.
If you’re ready to prepare your full continental breakfast now, you’ll want to act fast. The Cuisinart Griddler Five is on sale for a limited time only at Amazon.
