‘Taylordle’ is the ‘Wordle’ clone for Swifties
A new Wordle challenger approaches: Taylor Swift.
Josh Wardle’s wildly popular word guessing game has spawned several clones since its meteoric rise to Internet fame. There’s Lewdle (NSFW words), Absurdle (adversarial Wordle), Primel (prime numbers), and Dordle (double Wordle), to name a few. Now we can add to that list Taylordle, aka Wordle (Taylor’s version).
Taylordle comes to us courtesy of the Swift-centric podcast Holy Swift. It only uses five-letter words relevant to Swift’s life and body of work (aka the “Swiftie Universe”). Eligible words can be anything from album titles (LOVER) to songs (both BLANK and SPACE are possibilities) to relevant names (SWIFT, obviously). The focus may seem narrow until you remember Swift’s prolific songwriting skills and her extensive catalog. She’s used up a sizable chunk of the dictionary, making it fair game for Taylordle.
Aside from the Swift angle, Taylordle‘s rules are the same as Wordle‘s. You have six chances to guess the mystery five-letter word of the day. When you enter a word, you’ll see either grey squares for letters that aren’t in the word, yellow squares for correct letters in the wrong place, or green squares for correct letters in the correct place. You can share your results like you would your Wordle results. Just click on your statistics and press “share” to copy your progress to your clipboard.
“Folkore” is full of possible Taylordle words.

Since Taylordle launched on January 28, it has already been played over 1 million times — a testament to the power of both Swift and Wordle. Swifties have joked that their encyclopedic knowledge of Swift should have prepared them for this moment.
Others have made memes about how they’re abandoning Wordle in favor of Taylordle.
Whether you choose to stick solely with Wordle or want to incorporate Taylordle into your daily word guessing obsession, one thing is clear: Swift was really onto something when she told us, “spelling is fun!”
