How to add voiceovers to your TikToks
Whether informative, sardonic, or both, voiceovers can enhance a TikTok video for clarity and humor.
What do cooking tutorials, sewing how-to videos, and daily vlogs have in common? They all probably rely on TikTok’s voiceover function, which can be used in the in-app editing suite.
Here’s how to add a voiceover to your TikTok video.
First, record or upload a new video by tapping the + at center of the menu at the bottom of your screen.

Once you’re finished recording and cutting clips to your desired edit, tap the microphone icon on the upper right side of your screen. The microphone icon should say “Voiceover” under it.

There, you’ll be able to record a voiceover timed to each frame of your video.
When you’re satisfied with your voiceover, tap “Save.”
You can also add voice effects.

Tapping “Save” will bring you back to the preview of your video, where you can add filters, stickers, text, and sounds.
You can also add effects to your voiceover by tapping “voice effects” and control the volume of your narration.
Don’t forget to turn on automatic captions to make sure your video is more accessible!
When you’re done with your video, tap “Next.” Then, you can add a caption, edit the video’s privacy settings, and select a cover.
