Get a free JBL headset with preorders of Samsung’s new Odyssey monitor
Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.
TL;DR: As of Aug. 10, you’ll get a JBL Quantum One gaming headset (typically $299.95) for free when you pre-order the all-new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor from Amazon for $2,499.99.
With its 49-inch diagonal, 32:9 aspect ratio, 5,120×1,440 resolution, and 1000R curvature, Samsung’s new Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor is good at making most things feel puny — including your budget. It sits at the “high” end of “high-end” at a very casual $2,499.99, which is $800 more than its successor cost. (That would be the June 2020 Samsung Odyssey G9, no “Neo.”)
Fortunately, Amazon has something to take a little bit of the edge off that price tag: Now through Sept. 5 or while supplies last, you’ll get a $299.95 JBL Quantum One gaming headset for free with your Odyssey Neo G9 pre-order there ahead of its Aug. 23 release. (That’s probably the closest thing we’ll see to a discount for a while, FYI.)

Per the fine print, Amazon will send you an email as soon as your order ships with instructions on how to redeem a promotional code for the free headset; you’ll have until 11:59 p.m. PST on Oct. 5 to make that happen.
In the Odyssey Neo G9’s defense, it truly is a breathtaking piece of equipment: As the first Samsung screen of its size to sport a Quantum Mini LED backlight panel — it’s the same technology found in Samsung’s Neo QLED TVs, as Mashable’s Stan Schroeder pointed out — it features a ridiculous 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a peak brightness of 2,000 cd/m2. (“In real-life usage, this means deep, inky blacks with extremely bright HDR,” Schroeder wrote.) To top it all off, the display has a 240Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time for impeccably smooth, lag-free action.
For its part, the JBL Quantum One headset you get for free as part of Amazon’s offer boasts memory foam ear cushions, a detachable boom mic, RGB lighting effects, 50mm neodymium drivers, Active Noise Cancellation, and some professional-quality positional audio. Plug it into your Odyssey Neo G9 (via USB) for some seriously immersive gameplay.
