Disneyland’s new trash cans feature a hidden ‘Star Wars’ reference
Disneyland’s brand new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land was carefully designed with dozens of hidden references to the iconic “Star Wars” movie franchise. One of the most prolific of these Easter eggs can be found on every trash and recycling can placed around the new park area.
In a fictional language called Aurebesh, every garbage receptacle says “trash to sector 3263827.”
Sector 3263827 is the number for the Death Star trash compactor where Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa got stuck in the very first “Star Wars” movie.

Here’s a closer look at the label you’ll see on every trash and recycling can in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge:
Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca were nearly crushed to death inside the trash compactor, but were saved at the last moment by R2-D2 and C-3PO. At the very end of this scene, when Luke is talking to C-3PO over a radio device, you can hear him yell: “Open the pressure maintenance hatch on unit number … Where are we? 3263827.”
This isn’t the only reference to the memorable trash compactor scene found inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. In the marketplace section of the new land, the water fountain contains a dianoga— the one-eyed creature who attacks Luke inside the swampy trash compactor.
