Nearly eight years after the release of the very first Kindle Fire, Amazon’s line of tablets is still going strong — well, minus half of its moniker. Amazon dropped the “Kindle” part of that brand name in 2014, and the devices have been known simply as “Fire” tablets ever since.

Oh, and speaking of things being dropped by Amazon: The e-commerce giant just lowered the price of two certified refurbished Fire HD tablets by $20 each.

As part of this sale, you can score a gently used Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet or a pre-loved Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet for up to 29% off its usual price. Both models have been tested and certified to work and look good as new, so you get the same functionality as you would had you shelled out for a fresh-out-the-box Fire HD 8 or 10.

The Fire HD 8, the smaller tablet of the two, comes with a vivid 8-inch HD display, a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, built-in Dolby Audio technology, a rear-facing camera, and hands-free Alexa voice control. It’s got a mixed-use battery life of up to 10 hours, and according to Amazon, it’s twice as durable as the iPad Mini 4 (its Apple counterpart). Plus, it’s available in four different colors: Black, Blue, Red, and Yellow.

The Fire HD 10, for its part, is a 10.1-inch tablet with a vibrant 1080p Full HD display, a 1.8 GHZ quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, stereo speakers, Dolby Audio, rear- and front-facing cameras, and hands-free Alexa voice control. Its battery will last you up to 10 hours on a single charge, and you can take your pick from three different shades: Black, Marine Blue, and Punch Red.

If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, buying a Fire tablet (as opposed to an iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab) is a no-brainer: Your membership gets you free and unlimited access to thousands of books, magazines, songs, films, and TV shows on any Fire tablet — even these certified refurbished models.

Pop over to Amazon to get a certified refurbished Amazon Fire HD 8 or 10 on sale for $49.99 or $99.99, respectively. Considering the fact that they usually sell for $69.99 and $119.99, you’re getting a pretty sweet deal on a new-to-you tablet, here.
