Samsung Chromebook Pro is on sale for $469.99 at Amazon
fAmazon is not messing around today: The Samsung Chromebook Pro is $80 off, making it just $469.99. (It’s technically $120 off, if you consider that the laptop is $599.99 on Samsung’s site.)
You may be thinking “Oh shit, a laptop from Samsung for under $500? Sold.”
But Chromebooks have a few key differences that separate them from your average cheap laptop — mostly that they’re low maintenance as hell and store almost everything in the cloud rather than in internal storage and memory. Paranoid internet users will love this.
If you’re actually looking for a device with decent storage (like, over 32 GB) or a heavy-duty processor, you should check out the best cheap laptops under $500.
Called out as one of Mashable’s favorite Chromebooks of 2018, Samsung’s 2,400 x 1,600 touchscreen resolution is probably the nicest screen you’ll find on any Chromebook. The S-Pen is included and works pretty flawlessly with Chrome OS, as Google partnered with Samsung to make both the Samsung Chromebook Pro and Plus, which were two of the first stylus-integrated Chromebooks.
Comparing Samsung’s Chromebook Pro and Chromebook Plus directly, the real differences reside in the hardware: The Chromebook Pro is armed with an Intel m3 processor, which will have web pages loading about twice as fast as the Plus. It’s only about $100 more for double the power.
With 32 GB of storage, the Pro actually has more than most competitor’s measly 16 GB (the Google Pixelbook has 256 GB, but it’s $1,000).
Regularly $549.99 (or $599.99 on Samsung.com), you can save $80 and get it for $469.99.
