There’s never a bad time to watch Space Jam. One of the most baffling creations in comedy film history, this animation-meets-live-action hybrid casts NBA All-Star Michael Jordan opposite iconic rabbit Bugs Bunny in a basketball-fueled, intergalactic battle to end Looney Tunes enslavement. Yep. That’s the movie.

Ah, John Hughes: lover of parades, champion of Ben Stein, and notorious appreciator of vacation days. In this quintessential Hughes film, Matthew Broderick stars as a slacker high school student  eager to enjoy one last day of freedom. As always, #SaveFerris.

Every time we think we’re over Austin Powers, we watch a clip and laugh enough to change our own minds. Starring Mike Myers as the titular super-spy and the titular super-spy’s arch-enemy Dr. Evil, Austin Power: International Man of Mystery imagines what would happen if a 1967 Bond type were transported into the ’90s. In this mystical, magical journey, John Cho and Kal Penn lead as two stoners desperately trying to get their hands on some tiny square burgers. On the way, they have some very confusing interactions with a raccoon, a cheetah, and Neil Patrick Harris. God speed, you warriors.

One of many collaborations between Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, this buddy cop spoof checks off all the right comedy boxes. It’s got ridiculous dialogue, spectacular action, tragic back stories, Mark Wahlberg being extremely aggressive, and just an obscene amount of property damage.

From the regularly inventive folks over at A24, Swiss Army Man is a dark comedy that follows beats similar to Cast Away — if Wilson were a rotting corpse instead of a volleyball. Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe lead in an increasingly strange tale of survival, friendship, and imagination.

Oh, Hot Rod. How dumb and delightful thou art. A Lonely Island creation featuring performances by Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Isla Fisher, Ian McShane, and more, this coming-of-age film (starring full-grown adults Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone) combines amateur stunt work with professional comedy in all the right ways.

So, put your little hand in miiiiine… Directed by Harold Ramis, Groundhog Day is the Bill Murray staple film that defined a narrative structure. Set in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (aka home of the world’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil), this dark comedy follows a cynical weatherman stuck in a time loop. It’s the freakin’ Catalina Wine Mixer. Another team-up between Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, Step Brothers follows Brennan (Ferrell) and Dale (John C. Reilly) — two man-children forced to combine their lives when their single parents get married. Even if you’ve seen it a million times before, this is one of the best films to pop on while you do [gasp] ACTIVITIES!

Directed by Sydney Pollack, this 1982 classic film remains one of the best Dustin Hoffman films ever created. Hoffman stars as Michael Dorsey — a down-on-his-luck actor who transforms himself into the fictitious Dorothy Michaels to land a part on a medical soap opera. With supporting performances by Bill Murray, Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, and Geena Davis, Tootsie holds way up.

There are tons of great Monty Python films to pick from (including Life of Brian, which is also streaming on Netflix), but The Holy Grail will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It’s endlessly quotable, stupidly funny, and captures everything that made this comedy team spectacular. Not to mention, it forever changed how we see coconuts, swallows, hamsters, and elderberries.

We are Sex Bob-Omb: 1-2-3-4! Based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s beloved graphic novel series, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is the favorite we keep coming back to. It’s got great actors: Chris Evans! Anna Kendrick! Brie Larson! Kieran Culkin! Plus, a killer soundtrack, wonderful visual effects, more references than you can count, and some of the best lines ever written. We’re in lesbians.

A celebration of rap, comedy, and the Oakland Athletics, The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience is the surprise short film Lonely Island fans didn’t know they needed. Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer, portraying MLB players Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire, unceasingly commit to the bit in a 30-minute tribute to the limits of sanity, reason, and acceptability.
