GPS navigators on sale: Shop Garmin and TomTom

Travel is pretty much a no-go at the moment thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, but once we’re all free from quarantine and working from home, we’re going to be itching to get out of town.

If you’re anything like me, getting lost is a personality trait. And not the fun ~get lost along the way~ type of lost — I’m talking about having no idea where to turn next to get to your destination. 

To be ready to take a trip as soon as the coast is clear, you should get a GPS navigator now. We’ve found a few Garmin and TomTom systems currently on sale at Best Buy and Amazon.

A bright 6.95-inch screen will have you seeing every turn far enough in advance that you won’t miss one. It also has a feature that helps you avoid traffic during your drive. The system has WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, so you get real-time traffic information, maps, and software updates. Normally this GPS costs $239.99, but you can save $60 right now.

For a little less advanced option, check out the Garmin Drive 52. It has a 5-inch display with visual and audio navigation instructions. To get updates, you will have to connect this model to your computer via USB as it is not equipped with Bluetooth or WiFi. The Garmin Drive 52 is normally $129.99, but you can grab it on sale for $89.99.

In addition to being a navigation system, this TomTom can make hands-free Bluetooth calls by connecting to your phone. It has up-to-date traffic information to help find you the best route to your destination. It automatically updates to show you the latest speed limits and road changes. Typically this device costs $249.99, but it’s currently on sale for $170.82.

Again, a less advanced model, this TomTom provides you with navigation information, but will need to connect to a computer to receive updates. It does feature lane guidance to help make sure you don’t miss your exit or end up in the slow lane stuck behind traffic. This TomTom navigator is on sale for $99.82, down from $117.18.
