Get the Echo Auto and more
Everything is “smart” these days — you can turn off the lights, set your thermostat, program a microwave, and so much more using just your voice. Your home is smart, so why should your car be any different?
We found a couple devices that will bring the power of Amazon’s Alexa into your car. That means you can access skills with your voice and keep your hands on the wheel. No distracted driving here!
Echo Auto — save $15 (plus more if you count free Amazon Music)
The Echo Auto connects to your phone through the Alexa app and plays through your car’s speakers via an aux cord or Bluetooth. The device comes with a vent mount, so it will stay securely in one place as you drive. Use your voice to play music, make calls, check the news, ask questions, add to your to do-list, manage your calendar, and more while on the road.
Having a microphone in your car at all times might make you a little wary, but Echo Auto has an off button to disable the mic and give you privacy peace of mind. The Echo Auto typically retails for $49.99, but it’s currently on sale for $34.99 and it comes with four months free of Amazon Music Unlimited.
The Roav Viva plugs into your car and gives you Alexa skills and two USB ports. You can charge your phone and get directions or play audio books from the same little device. Alexa will play music, but note that the Roav Viva does not have an aux port and does not support Spotify at the moment. So, this device might not be ideal for everybody.
Normally the Roav Viva is $35.99, but it’s currently on sale for just $14.40 — make sure you clip the extra 25% off coupon before adding the device to your cart.
OK, so this isn’t technically a smart device for your car, but it is car-related. The Refoss allows you to open your garage door with an app or a voice assistant — so it’s compatible with the products listed above. Within the app you can check the garage door status to see if it’s open or closed and receive alerts if anything is out of the ordinary.
The Refoss is compatible with most major garage door openers and is simple to install. The device retails for $48.99, but is on sale for $29.99.
