It’s new iPhone season once again, but as always, Apple’s latest offerings can get pretty expensive.
If you want the iPhone 11 Pro, you’re going to pay at least $999. The iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at $1,099. And while the iPhone 11 is a relative bargain at $699, that is still a big chunk of change.
The good news? Service providers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile usually offer some incentives to get people to buy new phones. These can range from discounts with trade-ins to bonuses with the purchase of a new phone.
As always, we’re here to help you sort through the deals and figure out which ones are right for you.
Verizon
First up, Verizon has a pretty decent deal on a new iPhone 11, but it’s best for people who aren’t actually Verizon customers yet.
If you’re unsatisfied with your current carrier and want to erase a huge chunk of the iPhone 11’s price, you can switch to Verizon and trade in an older phone for up to $700 towards the new iPhone. The key to unlocking this discount is to open a Verizon unlimited line and put the new phone on a device payment plan.
Once you do that, you’ll get a $200 prepaid card and up to $500 in trade-in credit. If you manage to get the full value of the trade-in, you can basically get a new iPhone 11 from Verizon for free.
It won’t make the more expensive iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max phones free, but the same discount does apply to them if you meet the conditions.
AT&T
We’re still early enough in the process that many carriers still haven’t published comprehensive deals for the iPhone 11 yet. AT&T is one such carrier.
AT&T has preorder pages up for all three iPhone 11 models, but there aren’t a lot of hard details yet. Preorders start in earnest on Friday. Curiously, if you open the AT&T preorder page in a browser tab, the tab name mentions a “$300 Reward Card.” Hopefully there will be some more details on that by the end of this week.
T-Mobile
The same goes for T-Mobile. On T-Mobile’s website, there’s a countdown timer for iPhone 11 preorders that ends on Friday. Theoretically, once the timer ends, the page will contain plenty of juicy details for T-Mobile’s iPhone offerings.
Unfortunately, until that happens, that’s about all we can tell you at the moment. We will update this article with more details as they become available.
Sprint
Again, Sprint hasn’t told the world what it plans to do in terms of carrier-specific deals for the iPhone 11 yet. There’s an iPhone 11 page on Sprint’s website, but it’s just a big advertisement for the phone right now.
We expect these carriers to unleash their full discount plans soon, so check back to get the full list as soon as we can provide it. The new iPhones hit stores on Sept. 20.
