LG Gram 17 laptop on sale for $1,499 — save $200
TL;DR: The impossibly light LG Gram 17 laptop is on sale for $1,499 at PCMag, saving you $200.
Getting back into the school routine is kind of exciting at first — mid-semester is when hauling yourself to class becomes a struggle. Hyping yourself up to get that attendance point is even harder when you know it involves carrying a clunky, four-pound laptop. (Owners of MacBook Pros from the early 2010s are afraid of nothing.)
Maxing out at 2.95 pounds, the LG Gram is one of the lightest 17-inch laptops ever manufactured, and right now, you can head to the PC Mag Shop (which is owned by Mashable’s publisher, Ziff Davis) and get it on sale for $1,499. (The sale price at Amazon is $1,588, so.)
The slender frame is crafted not of metal, but out of a metal alloy combination of nanocarbon and magnesium: It’s a crafty solution that’s able to look the part of a metal laptop while avoiding the bulk. LG claims that the alloy passed military durability tests and doesn’t dent easily, so you can feel safe packing it in a suitcase or up in a carry-on space.
Touché — a convenient size doesn’t mean anything if the specs inside just slow you down. Luckily, the LG Gram has some room to brag here, too: A 2560 x 1600 quad HD resolution that outdoes most Windows 10 laptops, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD, a 8th-generation i7-8565u Quad-Core processor, and a fingerprint reader are all present to make your work or school day go smoothly.
All-nighters will be accompanied by a battery that lasts up to 19.5 hours on one charge. Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro could literally never.
Squeezed along the sides are a Thunderbolt 3 port, an HDMI port, a USB-C port, three regular USB ports, and a microSD slot.
Regularly $1,699, you can save $200 and get it for $1,499 — no code necessary.
